How do you use SharePoint with your students?

It's difficult...we've tried, but not with a lot of success...I have one teacher who has uploaded review questions for the students
I have several teachers who give quizes to their students using sharepoint.
I have used it as a storage and access place for students to transport work from school to home.
It is a way for students to work on work both at home and at school.
The calendar has helped with organization and scheduling.
The check for assignments and events.

How did you introduce the use of SharePoint to your fifth graders? What was effective?

Kids are excited about using it at home
We discussed password and the importance of them, also the accountability that comes with a personal sharepoint.
We discussed mailboxes and the uses for them.
We discussed calendars, events, posting.

What kinds of challenges have you encountered when using SharePoint with students?

Not many students have internet access
Different programs between school and home
time!!!
Passwords forgotten
Hard to access at home
Time it takes to login and logoff each time a student uses their Sharepoint address
Team teachers have difficultly accessing all students.

What is working effectively on your school's SharePoint site?

The fact that some teachers do use it is a big plus.

How have you introduced and encouraged the use of SharePoint among your teachers?

With reminders and encouragement, teachers have set up grade level sites to share documents and collaborate

What tips would you share with CRSs and LMSs who are creating school/library SharePoint sites.

It's a lot of work in the beginning...time consuming...have your site planned
